Last week, The Everyday Republican and many others travelled to New Hampshire to see the so-dubbed 'First in the Fall' debate amongst the candidates for the Republican Presidential nomination. In a remarkable, almost accidental encounter, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Congressman Ron Paul actually debated for about one minute of a 90 minute debate.
After the debate, former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson joined the race for President and endorsing the idea of 'Lincoln-Douglas' style debates. Huckabee, ever wily, challenged Thompson to do just that.
Today, Thompson is reworking his comments, opting for 'general election' debates only.
