Samuel Huntington, as most savvy readers know, was the first President of the United States - sort of, anyway. He served while the Articles of Confederation were in effect, prior to the U.S. Constitution and the Presidency as it is now cast. A native of tiny Scotland, Connecticut, Samuel Huntington helped shape the founding of our nation as well as our state.
