America Says "Two Thumbs Down" to Congress

"We raised the bar too high." - Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid

The Democrat-controlled Congress got a progress report from the American people this weekend - and it wasn't good. According to Reuters, the results are staggering: a Quinnipiac Poll had Congressional approval at 23%, and May's Gallup poll had Congress at 29% approval rating. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, third in the line of Presidential succession, was quoted as saying, "we can only do so much."

As Connecticut's families take a look at the job done by one-term Congressmen Joe Courtney and Chris Murphy, as well as Reps. John Larson and Rosa DeLauro for that matter, they recognize that the big talk, 'The 100 Hours', "the most ethical Congress in history", the 5-day workweek for Congress - all just an October sham. And Americans know it.
