CONNECTICUT REPUBLICANS HOST EVENT AS THE DECISION DATE CLOSES IN FOR SENATOR FRED D. THOMPSON

HARTFORD - With fours days until the Prescott Bush Awards Dinner, excitement continues to grow about whether former U.S. Senator Fred D. Thompson will enter the Presidential race.

“People are pumped up about Sen. Thompson’s appearance. We have not only Republicans from across the state attending, but also Republicans from Massachusetts and Rhode Island joining us for the dinner. Everyone is excited to know whether Thompson will jump into the race for the White House,” said Healy.

Despite not being an official candidate, Thompson is running third in most national polls. In the state of Georgia he is number one. Now that Law & Order has aired their last episode for the year, Thompson can enter the Presidential race.

Thompson is the former United States Senator from Tennessee. He starred in 18 movies including The Hunt for Red October. His most recent political success was guiding John Roberts’ nomination to the Supreme Court through the Senate successfully.

Thompson is not the only celebrity attending the dinner. Governor M. Jodi Rell, Lt. Governor Michael Fedele, Congressman Shays, Republican legislators and local leaders will be in attendance.
