The Republican Heard

The Republican Heard, the weekly e-newsletter by the Connecticut Republican Party, is now out. If you aren't on the CTGOP E-mail list, then you didn't receive it. And you aren't having any of the fun.

In other news, the Presidential campaigns are releasing their third quarter fundraising numbers. Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani had a good quarter, raising $11 million compared to $9.3 million for Senator Fred Thompson. Governor Mitt Romney raised $10 million and wrote himself a check for $8.5 million.

Buried in the Courant article is this tidbit: "In a surprise to the GOP field, anti-war Republican Ron Paul raised $5 million in the third quarter and has $5.3 million cash on hand, more than McCain. Paul's opposition to the war has mobilized an avid Internet base of support for his long-shot candidacy."

Speaking of Ron Paul...anyone else notice the large Ron Paul for Pres. banner on the overpass crossing the east bound lane I-84 near manchester? I see it everyday as do thousands of others. It's no wonder that capt Paul of the spaceship enterprise is able to raise some $$$ his people are getting the word out.

yes - and Paul's campaign is doing it very inexpensively as well.
That banner over I-84 couldn't have cost more than say $35 and is seen by thousands a day.

The Libertarian message has more public appeal than a lot of you might think.

The libertarian message has tons of appeal. In New Hampshire they put it right on the license plates - live free or die.

The message isn't the problem, its the logical ends of libertarianism that become troublesome.
