CT GOP State Central Member John Nazzaro Nominated To Superior Court

State Central Member John Nazzaro of Pawcatuck was nominated yesterday by Gov. Jodi Rell to become a Superior Court judge.

The Day of New London has the story in today’s newspaper and has Nazzaro saying “It's exciting,” It's an absolute privilege and honor, and as I said to Governor Rell, if I am confirmed as a judge I will always remember that I work for the people of the state of Connecticut.”

Nazzaro has a long and distinguished background in the legal system here in Connecticut being involved in major civil litigation and the Station nightclub fire case.

In a release from her office, the Governor stated: “Judges wield a great deal of power, not only in society but in the way everyday business is conducted in their courtrooms. We therefore set very high standards for — and maintain high expectations of — the men and women who serve on Connecticut's bench. I am pleased to nominate these two men to such high positions and I expect the General Assembly will agree that they possess the experience and qualifications we look for in our judges.”

Also nominated was Matthew E. Frechette of Branford to the bench.

John Nazzaro currently serves on the Connecticut Republican State Central Committee and has been active in local, state and national political activities. The New London Day reports that if confirmed he would relinquish his positions.

We here at Connecticut Republicans wish our friend John Nazzaro all the best and wish him luck as he goes thru the confirmation process.
